Climate Action is the foundation of Thimo Ciitu's environmental work. It brings together tree planting, ecosystem restoration, and practical conservation work that can be seen in schools, public spaces, and community gathering points across Gatundu South.

The program exists because climate work becomes meaningful when it is local, consistent, and owned by the people affected by it. Through campaigns, awareness sessions, and community participation, the group turns climate conversations into visible action.

What We Focus On

The program connects directly to the Green Gatundu Initiative and tree planting campaigns. It helps build habits of stewardship while creating practical outcomes such as planted trees, restored sites, and stronger environmental awareness.

The Green Gatundu Initiative is our flagship climate action project that integrates tree planting, environmental clean-ups, climate-smart agriculture, medical outreach, and community mobilization around the theme "Beat Plastic Waste." It connects environmental action with community wellbeing and local ownership.

You can participate by joining our community planting days, adopting seedlings for planting, or volunteering during our environmental events. We welcome individuals, schools, and organizations to partner with us. Contact us to find out about upcoming planting activities in Gatundu South.

We plant a mix of indigenous and fruit trees that are suitable for the Gatundu area. These include fast-growing species for reforestation, fruit trees for food security, and indigenous trees for biodiversity conservation. Our seedling selection is guided by Kenya Forest Service recommendations.

We promote seedling adoption and post-planting care through community stewardship programs. We work with schools, households, and institutions to ensure trees are watered, protected, and monitored. Our experience shows that pairing planting with adoption significantly improves survival rates.

Climate action directly impacts community health through cleaner air, reduced pollution, and better waste management. Our initiative integrates medical outreach with environmental activities, recognizing that healthy environments and healthy communities go hand in hand.
